About This Webinar
As manufacturing environments evolve, traditional security controls commonly deployed around the Purdue Model such as east-west firewalls, VPNs, and VLAN-based segmentation at Level 3.5 are no longer sufficient. Even when organizations consider their OT networks "air-gapped," the reality is that connected IT assets (mobile devices, tablets, cameras, printers) and externally exposed applications (VPNs, vendor portals, supplier access) create indirect but significant OT attack paths.
It is well established that adversaries compromise IT devices or applications first and then pivot into OT. Once inside OT networks, the VLAN-based segmentation and IP-based policies do little to stop lateral movement, putting operations and safety at risk.
This session introduces the Zero Trust Purdue Model, a modern approach that strengthens the Purdue framework by securing connectivity based on Zero Trust principles. With Zero Trust, we inspect every user and device communication even those inside the factory before allowing connection to be established. However, rather than implement an IT-based Zero Trust, the Zero Trust Purdue Model is built for OT specific requirements that put greater emphasis on uptime, availability, latency and resiliency.
Join us to learn how the Zero Trust Purdue Model can be implemented in your environment without disrupting production workflows.
Key Takeaways
