By now, the infrastructure debate over cloud and on-prem has been well trod with clear benefits and consequences for either choice. Most organizations find themselves in a mixed environment between both, maybe even with colocation facilities and multiple cloud providers! Juggling all these together can be complicated, so why would we add another term to the mix, Dedicated Cloud?

This talk will explore the option that bridges the gaps between traditional infrastructure debates. Dedicated cloud is about granting you on-prem style infrastructure (like dedicated servers and access to layer2 networking) but in a cloud-native environment. We'll introduce the Equinix Metal platform to see how it works, and end with a more complex example built and destroyed using Terraform. By the end of this talk, you should know how to get started with Equinix Metal and start your own Dedicated Cloud journey.
